The Book of B&B (Basslines and Baseball) Chapter 34

Hello America,

Good Morning!  Y'all thought I was gonna be down because the Rangers lost.......

Y'all thought I was gonna be defeated because the polls say my candidate in Michele Bachmann don't have a chance.

Y'all thought this was the moment I am supposed to say it's over.........

Awwww......... youngstas (said with affection)

Let's get to it, I got a research proposal I gotta get done.

We are going to keep it real simple, a little bit of politics, I need to address one point, a story about me, some baseball talk, one song and then we through.

I am so proud of Mr. Limbaugh, not Rush but he's brother.  He along with Thomas Sowell, Michelle Malkin and others have the amazing ability to just not relent with the truth.......

They just keep coming with it regardless of a poll, of a speech, they just running backs, they get stronger and the game gets longer.

I ask, humbly, if you are a student, if you are a parent, if you want to know about what this student loan stuff that Obama is brazenly saying yeah I went around Congress and I'll do it again.

david limbaugh's break down of the student loan plan

I also want to commend and say openly how proud I am of my big sister because of having the audacity to stay on the issue and the problem..........

Bachmann calling the student loan backdoored by Obama for what it is

And lastly the tea party in Virginia, for standing up for themselves, they were charged and paid for their protests and the OWS people have been freeloading,ohhh............sorry, I mean been protesting for free and they didn't give up about no game 7, they didn't fret, they got up and said we need our money back.

Virginia Tea Party standing up for their refund because they got charged and OWS didn't

To David Limbaugh, to Michele Bachmann and to the Virginia Tea Party, I am so proud of you for the fact that when your mirror is revealed and great occasions show what's really inside, it is resolve and resiliency that comes out like floods.  Thank you and stay strong, victory is not to the swift nor the strong but he or she that endureth the longest......

That's all for the political, there are plenty of stories that deserve my attention and yours to, but just like every other sporting even I get involved in via this blog, the World Series has turned in something more than just a game...........

I was proud to see Fox programming embracing an urban audience last night, to hear drake headline's during the game, was humbling, not saying I had something to do with it, but .......

I was proud to see one of my favorite R&B artists, in Joe, sing the national anthem and gave it justice to where every American regardless of race in the stands was like amen..........

I was proud to see whomever that soldier was who sang God Bless America last night, man......... don't it feel good when a man in uniform with a beautiful voice sings with all of his might.

GOD BLESS AMERICA, MY HOME SWEET HOME!

Aint it grand, ain't it a blessing...........

It occured to me that two black men song the two songs in the world series.  I was born in '75, I grew up with neighbors saying me and their children couldn't play together because our colors were different.  It meant something to me.  I wasn't proud because they sung, I was proud of the faces in the audience of all colors that felt the meaning and the passion these men had in that song.  That it didn't matter their race, their voices, their notes, the breath from their bodies proclaiming love of this country touched hearts and souls and places race is not a factor.

I am proud of my country for that, I am proud of St. Louis for that, I am proud of baseball for those moments.

I was proud to be part of what I hope to be just another page in the wonderful story Jose Alberto Pujols and his manager Tony LaRussa write the in the story called the St. Louis Cardinals.

I was proud that a fellow Texan in Lance Berkman does what Texans always do, get up, show up, and step up.......

Not about kissing a** over no game, these are my truths.  Although it does not miss me ESPN win the rangers win, the headlines is college football, when the cardinals win, it's drake #headlines.. *shaking my head*  until we win it, we just ain't going to get that love from y'all huh? no worries.

This is the last game in the 2011 season, I have lost too many folk in my life, too many opprotunities to not realize that if I have something to say to you, I will. Been through too much.

Now that all of that is out of the way, the rest of this is for my boys in Blue.  The Texas Rangers....

I told you all that I was made to love you, and why would that stop now loves?  During the Mavericks run, I was hard on Jason Terry because he was playing like he had lost his mind or had a heat jersey on and I was rough on him because I know Terry is a prideful man, his mouth is bigger than mine, Ask Dirk!, scary, scary indeed ;)

I watched the game last night, the entire game, and if you read my post yesterday, I said tonight could be the night in reference to last night, but I didn't guarantee anything.  Do I know who is going to win tonight?  Well, I called the packers, bruins, and mavericks all who were not favored outside of the packers slightly to make it and none of them against the opponents they faced.

I saw nerves rattle a tad, all of you all Texas Rangers are grown men, I am sure that you all can relate to the first time........in a different aspect in your lives.  I am going to share a short story with you and then we are down.

God and I got into a very heated argument at the beginning of the week, due to the fact that I can't do everything by myself in regards to web stuff and have like 50 other jobs, it doesn't seem like, but everything from the songs and who they will benefit what markets they will reach out to, to how these words and themes play into culture, politics and life is thought out.  I run it all through God.

I heard Wash's speech about preparing for two games, right after Game 5, Wash was very adamant about preparing for two games.  I was offended, I'm young like 'yo Wash did you not see the game.

God sees me talking to the screen, and says "He's right...."

And he pulls me to the side and he tells me what he wants me to say today, Monday and I am not happy.  I want this book to end, I am watching the game, but I am watching Obama shred the constitution and I have to get back to that battle.

Rangers, I don't think you want to lose, I think you got a little afraid to win.  It is easy to be who everybody thinks you are.  The sports page headlines of the Dallas Morning News said crushed.  Now seeing that you would have thought, y'all got blown out.

Kevin Sherrington in a column right under said something I knew was God's truth.  He said why should last night been any different, nothing comes easier for you guys.  And he's right.

In my own way, in my own life, I have just f***ed up not because I wanted to lose, but because I was scared to win.  With winning, there is no more hiding.  With winning, I can't keep my personal life a secret in the sense of hiding who I am, I can't keep my struggles, the valleys I have come through private and just let out selected victory.

In victory, you are immortalized.

I am proud of the fact that despite Felix, you kept on.  He didn't crack, he's been loose with control the past three saves including last night and sooner or later, he was going to pay for it.

I am proud that Beltre and Napoli understand that defense is just as important as office.

I am proud that Ron Washington, you were right, trust yourself, you did need to get Colby's a** out of there, but you did what you did for a reason, I can read lips very well.

I am proud of Mike Lowe, baby, don't hold your head down......

All I am trying to say to you, today, Rangers is don't let the downside, hide the blessings!

You all faced a group that got proud that were back at home and you were one strike away twice from beating a team three times in a row in the world series..........

So Napoli, baby, you'd better hold your head up.  You all better raise up and give God the glory and the praise this morning.

Your boy got his swing back, in Josh, Nelly got his swing back.  Know and understand that there are no mistakes..............

YOU ARE HERE IN GAME 7 WITH ALL OF THE MOMENTUM BELONGING TO THE HOME TEAM TO SHOW THE RANGER WAY TO THE WORLD.

RESOLVE AND RESILIENCY.

THERE IS NO BIGGER MIRROR THAN WHAT IT IS TODAY.

DON'T LOOK AT EACH OTHER IN DOUBT, IN WORRYING ABOUT JOE BLOW DROPPING THE BALL OR GETTING THE OUT OR NONE OF THAT FROM LAST NIGHT.

BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT, THE SAME BROTHERS WHO LET YOU DOWN LAST NIGHT, ARE THE ONES WHO HELPED GET ALL OF YOU ALL HERE.......

I AM PROUD OF YOU FOR FIGHTING TO THE VERY END..............

BUT IT IS FAR FROM OVER.  THE BATTLE ON THE FIELD DOES NOT MATTER MORE THAN THE ONES YOU ALL FACE THIS MORNING, IN THE HOTEL ROOM, IN THE SHOWER, IN THE DUGOUT WITH EACH OTHER.

YOU ALL ARE BROTHERS..........IN THE DAYTIME, IN THE NIGHTFALL, IN THE SYMPHONY OF WINNING, IN THE AGONY OF DEFEAT AND AFTER ALL OF THE DROPPED BALLS, AND NERVOUSNESS BECAUSE YOU ALL GOT A LITTLE OVERWHELMED ABOUT THE POSSIBLITY ABOUT GOING ALL THE WAY LAST NIGHT WITH LADY TROPHY ;)

THE BLESSING IS YOU HERE TODAY.  I put that in caps, because I am not screaming at you, I want you to understand.

You all here today.

It don't matter who is across in the other dugout, what matters is who is in your dugout.

Last night after the game, I got an earful from a lot of people, a lot of people looking to say you and your team choke, y'all this, Tiffani you that, I saw the real side of a lot of people last night after the game.  Heard some racial stuff, heard some personal stuff.

There was a time, I would have responded back playing to prove something.

There was a time, I would have folded because I knew I could do it, but I didn't want the responsibility of being accountable.

and then there was last night where I didn't falter, I didn't run from none of my words, I was the same me I was that morning and woke up the same way.

I wore a tshirt yesterday, I like phrases, my assistant as soon as I get the money will probably have to go out and buy 3k worth of tshirts.  I like working out in the morn with my statement shirt on.

Yesterday, it was respect the game.  And we had to do that yesterday, we respected the fact that you all play in a game where there is no sudden death overtime, that the other team, the home team has the last chance to score.  It is what it is.

Today, my tshirt says authentic hustler.  Because I am dedicated to getting done what I need to.

A hustler finds a way when it ain't one, A hustler is a parent dedicated to feeding they kids today, they not worried about who else is in the grocery store line.  A hustler is a soldier who has to defend his country today, he or she can't be worried about what the other side is going to do.  A hustler is someone like Helen Short who passed away Wednesday night........

God loved her so much, he wanted her to see game 7, healthy and happy with her husband and him saying what I am going to say to you.  Not for you to feel bad you didn't win it while she was here, it is for you to rejoice because today, out of all the days, TODAY IS YOUR CHANCE TO SHOW THE WORLD

that when you all hit that dugout and Elvis is restless, as he is animated and Wash is quiet and the mood is tight and you all feel the stomping of squirrels and cardinals and haters and doubt,

and Derek Holland's feet are tapping, he is "energetic" so to speak :), his cleats, start matching Ian cleats and Wash starts clapping his hands soon the entire team is on one page and Adrian as this is his first......gets frustrated and says.......

[Drake:]
