The Road to DC (Chapter 11)

Good Morning..

We are building from sermons as I am trying to attend church a little more often.

Yesterday, I was back at Oakdale Covenant Church.

The Rev. Griffith preached from Matthew 20:20.

The story of the mother of apostles James and John who wanted her sons to each sit on the side of Jesus on his throne....

The premise of the sermon was the danger of doing the right thing for the wrong reasons... and what happened with misaligned motives can lead to unintended consequences.......

But the pastor came from the premise of out of all the things this mother wanted her son's to be....

She wanted them to be at the highest place possible in Jesus' Throne.....

So in her tree that we have been discussing from Rev. Griffith lasts sermon, this mother had a standard of excellence in her regarding her children... And obviously determination and courage in her roots as out of all the things she could have asked the savior of the world for.........

She wanted something for her children, she wanted the best for her children.

Today, politically, we are dealing with Benghazi, the choice of our President to ignore the cries of someone's child.... and the fact that he and his administration ordered the IRS to go harass the tea party... which invariably affected elections.......

But something that always struck me as odd, was the lack of focus of Obama's mother.

A woman that surrounded her son with communists figures... and those who had the audacity to be impacted positively by capitalistic society... A woman who let her son be trained by those on terror lists, who instilled in him the very innate and inherent hate he has for this country....

She wanted the best from her son... and in that best, it simply didn't mean no good for America.

I thought about her telling her son

"You will be the one who will destroy this enemy without a shot fired, but with a pen in hand..."

I thought about the lessons I have learned from hockey, from the Detroit Red Wings how you can never say it's over until it is, learned about doing things the right way from the New York islanders even in defeat...  I see courage and determination in the Maple Leafs....

I thought about those hockey moms that told those babies... long before they had NHL jerseys on...

"Do your best and don't give up.........."

I thought about the Pacers and the Warriors two teams, that are immensely talented but never given the respect bc they don't have the marketing trios like the Knicks which is overrated b/c they have no rings and the Spurs which actually is warranted because they have earned it.

I thought about the Grizzles who are the best team as far as position left in the plaoffs.  It starts with the big.

I thought about the defeat I saw in Durant's last free throws....

I thought about all of those basketball moms that told these babies, long before they had NBA jerseys on.

"I don't care about who HE is, I don't care about he been on the court longer, you get out there and play..."

So when I came to think about the sermon as we will use until I get to church next time which is tedious as the red line is shut down for an indefinite period of time....

When I came to think about the bulls.....

I thought about what my mom told me about life....

"Feelings will kill you......"

I know everyone for Coach T to Noah to Nate to even Belinni feels some kind of way about the officiating which I said last week, WOULD HAPPEN.

It's to the point now, that NBA marketing has decided to put Nate Robinson in its Big series of commercials right after the ones that adore Lebron all over the world by himself.......

There was a play in which Belinni made a three point shot and was fouled but not called and that would have gotten it down to four and changed the momentum with 4 minutes to go...

There was a shot of Lebron being assured by an official that he would be "okay" as the 3rd quarter ended......

The thing that I wonder about we'll talk about tomorrow ;)

But God asked me what I would say today....  As we watched the Warriors fight back, stay in it last night... what would I say to the Bulls and the Thunder...as both of us hurt seeing Kevin and the Thunder robbed last year finals...

See if you want to kill a team, you take it's heart long before you take the box score...

That's what NBA marketing does, use the officiating to break spirits of teams, so then they justify Heat Box scores....

I looked at God and I said, I need you to pound this  pavement from Madison and Dameon in Chicago....

And on Berry and Lindsey in Norman (I'm a Sooner) because they need some Sooner spirit today, that kind that emerges when the play Oklahoma State or Texas.... ;)

and I want you to put it on each one of these young mens heart's that wear a Bulls jersey or sit on the sideline or coach the team, as well as those for the Thunder to look at each other, right before they walk out and do whatever ritual they do... and say

we all know they have declared us dead
But sports shows ain't where our souls fed
We bulls we walk, not led by hype
So we'll be damned if we can't walk through heat, it's time to fight

Ain't no referees going to this brotherhood loose
our world, our rules from the court to the roof
Tonight this is our heaven bc we all been through hell
Consider this our gametime Blackhawk yell

The Paint is our ground
Bulls Brothers are you down?
So make them haters say:

Those Bulls will limp before they use a crutch
They burn w poise like a well filled dutch"
It's simply just the way they do
We dug they graves, but them mofos dug one for us too
God said you said that before... and you can't ask Bulls to be Thunder and I smirked and said

Well,
I'll be damned if I don't have your best
is what mama said after giving you first breath
You laser in and do your part
To be there for your brothers before them haters start

The paint is battle ground
Make sure all your brothers down
And make your brothers say:

We ain't going to use no refs, injuries as no crutch
Mama told us to knuck the hell up
We ain't worried about what officials do
They may have us in the grave, but hell we have dug one two

Dig two
Ooh, ooh

Putting on this jersey means we all took this vow
That we down for a fight the right way, right here, right now,
Oh, right now

Better Dig Two (Round 2 Remix)
Written by Tiffani E. Mims (ASCAP)

WHAT I AM SAYING IS THIS THUNDER.....

YOU ALL EXPECT AND LIVE ON KEVIN GIVING HIS ALL.........

RIGHT NOW...

HE TIRED AND HE HURT AND HIS TWO BROTHERS WHO LED LAST TIME AIN'T HERE...

BUT THAT'S A CHANCE TO SHOW KEVIN AND THE LEAGUE, IT'S ABOUT THE JERSEY NOT THE NUMBER...

Stand up and help your brother... this ain't hero ball, it's basketball and if you lose to a better team...... ensure when you look up the next morning, you DID ALL YOU COULD DO.

Because each one of you all had a mother figure in your life that told that.......long before Scott Brooks could.

TO THE BULLS.

YOU AIN'T GOING TO GET THE CALLS... EXPECT KNOW IT, DON'T EVEN DEPEND ON FOUL SHOTS AT THIS POINT.

YOU HAVE TO FIGHT THEM THE RIGHT WAY, THAT MEANS NO TOUCHING THEM, EVEN WHEN YOU WANT TO...

That means hard fouls, versus hard shoves....

That means letting your teammates getting up on his own, and using that energy to force penetration so Ray and Lebron and Wade can be raising their hands for fouls as much as you have....

That means..........

YOU BE BETTER THAN THE HEAT, THAN NBA MARKETING.. YOU RISE FOR THOSE WHO were denied...

You play for Mama today...

And each one of you alls Mama including Coach T,

has told you long before you came into the United Center

"Don't matter how dirty they are... ensure you ain't........ and the rest will take care of it self"

TO THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION.

Obama's Mama put something in your heart that this nation can't remove: a hate for this country....

But My mama put something in my heart that this nation can't remove either: a love for it...

And we will get our nation back, inch by inch, foot by foot President Obama because we know you are going to fight dirty, we know you will remove our team members.. but each one of us is saying in our heart....

You may have dug a grave for us, but dear sir, we dug one for your ass too ;)

Filing in every state right now... because those folks in Benghazi fought until the end...

so anything less than our all is unacceptable...

back tomorrow.........

tonight's is Mama's night... Show this nation, Thunder and Bulls what type of man Mama made long before the NBA had a chance to make certain  players kings...
