The Road to DC (Chapter 17)

Hello America,

I hope that we all celebrated the real heroes, the real leaders of this country, our military.....

Those who are here, those are not because only they truly understand that freedom ain't free, liberty ain't cheap and democracy requires a different type of down payment.

I announced on my facebook and other social media that I am going to be on every state ballot for 2016...

and it's a good feeling.  For a little girl, with some thick glasses and a big jherri curl, it's a momentous time in my life....

After Shirley Chisholm and Barbara Jordan as role models, it excites the little girl in me to be able to complete a dream of mine since I was a little girl...

that if I wasn't married or with children by the time I was 40, I would run for President.

It was a empowering feeling that even with those who do not agree with me politically that I wasn't viewed with disdain or questions of my insanity.

So as I watched the pre game of Game 3 between the Pacers/Heat... I listened to Charles Barkley call viewers idiots as he couldn't understand why Lebron and the heat are consistently questioned in the same sentence as he announced the league yet again........

announced another call that should have come in the game and gotten Wade suspended as Lebron flopped and got Muhammed suspended in the Bulls/Heat series.

and admitted that the "Heat got away with another one........."

Hmmmmm.......

I thought about the Spurs who just epitomize the Texas mentality of teamwork, that there is no I in team and the glory is in championships not individual stats and marks...

and I thought about the Pacers and the Heat game 3 and game 4....

It took a long time... a long time before I could ever garner the respect of my peers and my opponents.

It took me being me and giving all I got all the time...

I looked at the blackhawks.... and how they have fought and clawed and scratched back....

and it reminded me of what has to be done every day.....

I hope the pacers do to....

I can't say more than that, I can't be bulletin board material for the heat....

but I can say...

If it's your time, it's your time
but your actions gotta be a little bit bolder
Who says victory was gonna be an easy road
You gotta go through something
You can't sit back waiting and remembering
Gotta be wide awake, to make this your dream

If you all are serious about this
Make each possession one you can't miss
Walk into your fieldhouse with your brothers and just trust
Indiana means hard work, and hard fights
Because that's what blue collars are in this life
Man up, buck up and give it all you got tonight

Give it all you got (Blue collar life)

The Blackhawks.... The Spurs, The Sharks, all understood at this point....

They don't get their players jersey's and t-shirts sold during this halftime show...

They don't get idol worship for individual events....

But they do get the concept of teamwork, and NO MAN is above the team, and NO one man can be the savior of the group of five....

and between these teams.... more rings than are on Shaq's, Barkley's, Kenny and Lebron's finger....

Indiana and Chicago mean hard work and hard fights  because that's what makes blue collars in this life....

Play ball...
Have a great game, NBA and NHL..............

because even with my master's ...

my knuckles are raw and rubbed and my collar is blue

and the GOP, nor DEMS, Nor Hillary Clinton is going to shame me out of it.
