The Road to DC (Chapter 7)

Hello America,

First of all, congrats... 4 teams had a chance to close it out and they did....... in the NBA playoffs....

And now we are going to welcome Toronto to the playoffs on the NHL side.

Lebron and I have a history as my first involvement into the playoffs was with Dallas....

And I'm late with this post, so I'm not going to use any rap songs...

I am not going to give the Heat nor Lebron any motivation.

But I will say this to the Chicago Bulls, Derrick Rose coming back is cool, but he needs to come in like Dirk did as a sub...  and it's not fair to the rotation that is actually working for anything less....

But I am going to tell you a quick story....

I went on Diversey the other day, as it was gorgeous outside and I sat and I looked at the people walking around......... and God sat next to me...

We watched Kevin be Kevin and I couldn't stay mad at Derrick Fisher as he is from Oklahoma City, I lived in Oklahoma City and I can't blame him for lying to go back home to try to win...  I wish he didn't lie, but I understand....

God placed his hands on my shoulder... and said

"It's time to find out what your tree is made of"..... reminding me of the Rev. Griffith's sermon from Oakdale Covenant Church in Chicago, IL...  and what we are speaking of for this playoff theme for this year...

and he took my hand and placed it on the street.........  and he asked me to bring my hand back up....

It was filled with sweat, blood, tears and grime...

"That is Russian blood, Polish Blood, Black blood, White blood, Dominican Blood, Jamican blood..and so many others... Tiffani, that's the blood of Chicago, that's the tears of the Chicago, that's the sweat of the Chicago..."

And I didn't wipe my hands..........  Because I wanted the essence of my city to stain my soul... I wanted my uniform a little dirty for today... and I wiped my sweat and tears with those same hands.........

And God simply said "Trees grow from roots... and roots grow in the dark....."

And God left and I sat there a lot longer and I thought about what kind of roots has my tree being growing in the dark...

And what has been growing in the Warriors, Spurs, Heat, Bulls, Rangers, Bruins, MapleLeaves, Ducks, Captiols, Red Wings and Kings..........

And it occurred to me
Oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa.
Oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa.

Them roots going to show what you made of in the dark
Can't no hype change that member's mark
It's time to grind in this playoff time
Just a ball and a puck gonna set yall apart

The bass of the crowd's roar, aint s*** to the net treble
And only a cup or a gold ball gonna satisfy on this level
It's gonna be players in some cage
And the paint is going to feel some rage
But if you want your night to end up right

Them roots going to show what you made of in the dark

So knuck it up, up, up
  Trust it up, up, up
Focus on up, up, up
F*** some tired

It's time to trust, ust, ust
Your brothers to bust, ust, ust

Show us, us, us
when wood and ice meet fire....

Oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa.
In the dark, dark
Oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, whoa.
In the dark, dark

The teams that win tonight, will show roots that show trust, patience, focus and determination...

Can't no trophy, no MVP, no hype, nor predictions, nothing or nobody can change the marks of the roots of their team trees, not now....

All one can do is remember that any team, can beat any other team if they PLAY THEIR GAME, THEIR WAY... and it starts with them roots...

Fellas if you at home or if you away, I suggest you put your hand on the pavement of your hometown, even mentally and you wipe that blood, sweat and tears of your city men and women on your jersey........

B/c that's the roots....

And that will be the key to the victory tonight.

I'll post full in the morning.

the devil and I had "issues"

So Mr. James and the Heat, no motivation from me today..

A little Fall out Boys ain't hurt nobody
